Champagne house Dom Pérignon is opening its vineyards and cellar to allow tours for the first time next month - for €600 a pop.
The launch of the Atelier Dom Pérignon workshops next month, will see up to 12 people take part in the day-long tour, which includes a technical tasting workshop, "a "digital and sensory experience", and an introduction to wine and food pairing. Participants will have the chance to taste four different champagnes including Dom Pérignon 2004 or 2005 vintage, Dom Pérignon P2 1998, Dom Pérignon P3 1990 and the Dom Pérignon rosé 2003.
They will also have a guided tour the Champagne vineyards, which will focus on explaining the terror of the Champagne region and take the visitors through the process of how champagne is produced.
The package also includes a tour of the Abbey of Saint-Pierre d'Hautvillers, the monastery where the champagne brand was first created by Dom Piere Pérignon in the 17th century, which is normaly closed to the public.
The price of the ticket does not include travel to Champagne.
The Dom Pérignon brand is owned by LVMH but its UK distribution is looked after by Moët Hennessy UK.
Last month the company reported a growth in its wines and spirits division, with champagne and wine volumes up 5%, driven by good performance of Moet Hennessy and prestige cuvees.
