Published:  27 February, 2015

Pernod Richard has shaken up its executive team as it looks to boost growth in Asia.

As part of a series of changes coming into force in July, Pierre Coppéré, chairman and CEO of Pernod Ricard Asida will head up a new 18 month project to implement initiatives to accelerate key growth in Asia, as executive senior vice-president in charge of Growth Initiatives. Philippe Guettat, current chairman and CEO of Martell Mumm Perrier-Jouët, will move to Hong Kong to take over the Asian team.

Replacing Guettat at Mumm in Paris is Pernod chairman César Giron, with Philippe Savinel, current CEO of Ricard taking on the Pernod brand in addition to his responsibilities.

The French drinks business is also bringing its marketing, commercial development and Pernod Ricard Research Center (CRPR) together under the current group marketing & commercial development director, Conor McQuaid from 1 March. McQuaid's, who will report to Pernod Ricard's new chairman and CEO, Alexandre Ricard, will become global business development director.

It is also promoting Peter Morehead of Irish Distillers Limited to the role of group operations director from 1 April 2015.

Earlier this month the company posted strong UK results in the six months to the end of December 2014, up 7% by value, as global net profits "stabilised" with a 1% increase to €4.62 billion.
