Published:  23 July, 2008

More than 350 employees at Robert Mondavi Winery in California's Napa Valley have been made redundant in the wake of the company's decision to sell off its luxury brands and concentrate on its lifestyle range. A Mondavi spokeswoman confirmed that 360 position eliminations' had taken place, made up of 181 full-time workers and 179 part-time staff. Vice-chairman Michael Mondavi stepped down from the company last month, and rumours abound that his brother Tim, who succeeded him as vice-chairman, may follow suit in the near future.
