The International Wine and Spirits Competition is launching a new award at this year's banquet. The Carmel Trophy for Best Eastern Mediterranean Wine Producer will be contested by wineries from Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Lebanon and Turkey. David Ziv, CEO of sponsor Carmel Winery from Israel, commented: The Eastern Mediterranean is one of the world's newest quality wine areas and we think it is important to sponsor an award promoting excellence in our region.'
