WSET: GOVERNMENT RECOGNITION & NEW SCHOLARSHIP

The Wine and Spirit Education Trust's new done in a day' Level 1 Foundation Certificate in Wines has received accreditation from the Government's regulatory authority for education, the QCA. This is the third WSET qualification to be approved, following the Intermediate and Advanced Certificates. It will now be placed in the National Qualifications Framework as vocationally related', meaning that it can be studied as part of a wider programme, such as a hospitality-related NVQ course. The WSET has also announced a new award at Diploma level: The Peter Hampson Memorial Scholarship. It consists of a bursary awarded to a UK-based Diploma graduate who achieves outstanding marks in the question on wine technology.
