Dom Pérignon launches David Lynch series

Published:  20 August, 2012

Dom Pérignon is to release a flight of limited edition bottles signed by the Californian film director David Lynch.

The Dom Pérignon and Dom Pérignon Rosé bottles and gift boxes have been redesigned by Lynch and will be released in the autumn.

The aim is to capture the similarities between the Twin Peaks creator, Dom Pérignon and Dom Pérignon Rosé, including: "Mystery, intensity, commitment, time, the constant reinvention of the self and, above all, absolute faith in the power of creation."

Lynch said: "It is a process of tuning in and then through experimentation getting something that expresses the essential nature."

Dom Pérignon by David Lynch takes the form of two gift boxes: one for Dom Pérignon Vintage 2003 (rrp £135), which aims to draw consumers into a science-fiction world, and where the signature is hidden in shimmering reflections that change with the light.

The Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2000 (rrp £300) gift box resembles a magic theatre, with silk ribbons at either end that raise the curtain on the interior of the box, and Lynchian chiaroscuro silhouettes herald a world where mystery is a game.

Every bottle is decorated with, or animated by, a play of light and dark. Dom Pérignon by David Lynch goes on sale from October 1, 2012, in Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Selfridges.
