WaverleyTBS saw 5.5% growth in 2011

Published:  28 May, 2012

Independent drinks distributor WaverleyTBS has announced a 5.5% growth in pre-tax profits to £4.2 million for 2011.

The company put this down to implementing a cost and service efficiency improvement plan that has resulted in enhanced service to customers, alongside a refreshed range and a value offering that has enabled the business to grow its customer base across all trade channels.

It claims to have successfully improved service while delivering a substantial cost-reduction programme, which reduced overheads by over £9 million or 19% compared with 2010.

It also reveals sales to the free trade sector showed double-digit growth for the last six months of the year.

Jeremy Blood, executive chairman at WaverleyTBS, said: "These annual results demonstrate a strong performance from WaverleyTBS. Independent WaverleyTBS is back on course, winning with customers, managing costs and delivering profit growth.

"We are now well positioned with a long-term sustainable platform for growth and will continue to do so as we strengthen the business and look for new opportunities in the market."

During the financial year, WaverleyTBS secured a number of high-profile national supply contracts, including Merlin Entertainments, Cote and Bill's restaurants.
