GRU-V TUESDAY ........
Gru-V Tuesday is the name of the Austrian wine importers' inaugural Austrian Summer Party, to be held on Tuesday 1 July in the garden marquee of the K&K George Hotel, London SW5, in association with the Austrian Wine Marketing Board. Gru-V Tuesday is a trade-only event, with a tutored tasting of the seven leading Austrian wineries from the historic' Grner Veltliner/Chardonnay Challenge held at the Groucho Club in October 2002. The tasting will be introduced by Jancis Robinson MW. Famous wines from Knoll, Brndlmayer, Velich (presented by the winemaker himself), Prager, Freie Weingrtner Wachau and Loimer will be presented. The event, a collaboration between 18 shippers of Austrian wines and Wines from Austria, is the first in a planned annual series. Tickets are available from the Austrian Trade Commission, priced 40.
