Greenall's launches North West Best Bartender competition.

Published:  02 March, 2012

Warrington-based Greenall's, is asking for entries to its first, North West Best Bartender competition.

Throughout March, Greenall's will be asking Manchester's cocktail talent to show their flair by serving a unique twist on the royal favourite, G&T, plus create an entirely new long cocktail inspired by the Queen's Diamond Jubilee - both using Greenall's Original London Dry Gin.

The top ten selected finalists will be asked to showcase their cocktail making skills on March 21 at the Ember Lounge, Malmaison, Manchester, where they will be placed in front of an expert judging panel.

Master distiller, Joanne Moore, will crown the winner the North West Best Bartender and award a £500 cash prize.

Competitors will be judged on their presentation skills, mixing technique knowledge of Greenall's gin and quality of their cocktail.

Joanne Moore, master distiller and custodian of the Greenall's Original London Dry Gin recipe, said: "We are looking for someone with flair who can put together something truly unique to complement the distinctive taste of Greenall's Gin while also recognising the Great British heritage of the spirit.

"This is a great opportunity for Manchester's bartenders to demonstrate their skills in cocktail-making, creating something original with a gin that is becoming increasingly well known in the on-trade.

"We are excited to see what talent comes forward from Greenall's home region and it also gives us the chance to share what the spirit's all about as well as collating an impressive menu of cocktails."

Entries close at midnight March 14 - for more information contact  alicja.gear@gjgreenall.com
