London's Imagination Gallery will host the third annual Koshu of Japan trade and press tasting day on February 22, exploring wines from the Yamanashi Prefecture wine region.

It will showcase wines from 15 of the region's leading producers, who will all be in London for the event.

Wine critic Jancis Robinson MW will host a tutored tasting event, presenting and discussing eight personally selected wines.

Robinson, who visited the Yamanashi region in 2010, will be joined by Lynne Sherriff MW to assess the wines' potential.

Koshu wines have made a mark in the on-trade market since their launch into the UK in 2010, with the region's "unknown" wines also impressing Gerard Basset MS MW of Hampshire's Hotel TerraVina who now has Koshu wine on the hotel's list and is fond of "its fresh and delicate style".

The main trade testing will commence at 10.30am until 5.00pm, with the tutored tasting running from 11.30am through to 12.15pm.
