London independent wine merchant closes

London independent wine merchant Wines of the World has closed down.
The company started out in 2005 as an internet-based retailer but later established wine shops in Earlsfield, East Sheen and Clapham.
When the business ceased trading last week only the Earlsfield store remained.
Owner Anthony Jones could not be contacted by Harpers but a message on the company's website says: "Wines of the World has closed. We'd like to thank all of our customers who have visited us over the years and wish you well for the future."
The business, listed at Companies House as Wines of the World UK Ltd, was due to file its accounts at the end of this month.
