London's Playboy Club is opening its doors to non-members with the launch of its monthly wine evenings.

Hosted by the venue's sommelier James Lloyd, who previously worked with Gordon Ramsay and developed Marcus Wareing's wine list, the evenings will take place on the first Wednesday of every month.

The inaugural event, a Christmas themed tasting, took place yesterday (November 9) and future tastings, priced £50 per person, will incorporate food around the theme.

December 7 will see the club sample sparkling wine and Champagne, January will focus on biodynamic and organic wines, while February 1's tasting homes in on dessert wines.

Each wine theme will be accompanied with food prepared by the club's executive chef Judy Joo - the Korean food expert who appeared on Iron Chef UK and Market Kitchen, as well as working with Gordon Ramsay, Fat Duck and French Laundry.

In addition to the monthly wine evenings, Playboy Club London will open its dining room restaurant to non-members for the first term on a limited basis, with an express lunch option all week long, and dinner on offer between 6pm and 7.30pm Monday to Thursday.

The Playboy Club London reopened in June, bringing the infamous Playboy Bunnies back to Europe after a long hiatus - the original London venue opened in 1966 at 45 Park Lane. There are also Playboy Clubs in Las Vegas at The Palms Casino Resort, in Macao, and Cancun.
