Wine brand Pig in a Poke will be sold on shopping TV channel QVC next week, the first time in 17 years the channel has sold a wine brand.

Wine brand Pig in a Poke will be sold on shopping TV channel QVC next week, the first time in 17 years the channel has sold a wine brand.

A full-day Festive Food show will be run by the channel, which reaches 22 million UK homes.

The wines will make 10 appearances and there will be four live interviews with staff. The range, consisting of three wines - Old Spot Red, White and Rosé - will be tasted, described and promoted by the QVC presenters.

They will be sold in three and six-bottle packs at £28.12 and £56.26 respectively plus delivery.

"This is a milestone event for Pig in a Poke," said the brand's Alistair Morrell.
"We have been building a steady consumer following and increasing the number of on-trade accounts over the last 18 months, but now, in one go, we are going to reach a vast number of households. This will have a major impact on brand awareness which will benefit current on-trade stockists and give new customers a good reason to try us in their outlets."

Kate Tomlin, food and kitchen buyer at QVC said: "We selected Pig in a Poke initially because it stood out in a sea of confusing labels. Having tasted the wine and spoken to Alistair about what the brand stood for, we thought it was the perfect brand for re-introducing wine to QVC."
