Another large cloud has appeared on the Bordeaux en primeur horizon, with the news that Robert Parker Jr, on whose judgement many chteaux base their opening prices, is postponing his annual tasting in the region. In a letter to ngociants who had arranged tastings for him starting from last weekend, Parker says: Regrettably, because of the war and the wishes of my family, I must postpone until a later date my visit to Bordeaux to taste the 2002 wines. I intend to return later this year, when the world is calmer.' He continues, Know that I remain a very loyal friend of France and its wine producers. I am furious and totally opposed to my compatriots, especially in the press, who are speaking of a boycott against French products.'
