UKVA's Chairman, Sam Lindo of Camel Valley, said the move was part of a new "dynamic strategy" involving the overhaul of the association which he said would give greater support and sales help to producers.

Gayler, a former director at NatWest bank, was one of the few lenders to show faith in Ridgeview and the future of English wine, when he agreed to fund the fizz producer during its first years of production in the 1990s.
