Barcadi has launched a ready- mixed mojito to capitalise on the increasing number of people drinking at home as the recession continues to bite.

The new product from Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands (BBFB), is releasing Bacardi Mojito Classic to the off-trade.

The launch is cashing in on two key trends; the growth of cocktail consumption at home, and the increasing popularity of the mojito.

The 75cl bottle which contains a blend of Bacardi superior rum, mint and lime, will retail for £13.99 through multiple grocery and convenience retailers.

Nik Krys, marketing manager at Bacardi Brown-Forman Brands said: " The mojito is currently experiencing strong popularity in the UK with a continued groundswell behind the drink recorded over the past few summers."

"A mojito can be an intimidating cocktail to make at home and recreating the perfect balance of flavours can be difficult. The Bacardi Mojito Classic will make it easy for consumers to impress their friends at home with all of the theatre of making mojito and the guarantee of delivering a consistently well mixed, deliciously refreshing and perfectly served Bacardi Mojito, every time."

The product launch will be supported by a £500,000 marketing campaign.
