FRANCE UNDER ONE ROOF

Published:  23 July, 2008

The French Wines Committee of the Wine and Spirit Association (WSA) is organising a tasting of quality French wines under one roof' on 12 March. It is being arranged in response to calls by importers for a more integrated approach to promoting French wines. The tasting will bring together the major UK agents and importers of French wines and will highlight wines in the 5-10 category. Andrew Gordon, chairman of the French Wines Committee, said: We have already had to move to larger premises to accommodate the higher than expected demand.' The tasting will be at Lord's Cricket Ground, and will be co-ordinated by Jane Hunt MW and Tina Coady. Gordon said: We believe there is scope for a generic tasting of all the regions. We have taken this initiative to promote French wines because we believe that, as a committee of importers, we are well-placed to organise such an event to complement Sopexa's other activities. Our aim is to refresh the image of French wines.' For further information contact Coady on 01865 424753, or e-mail t.coady@ntlworld.com
