Enoteca Turi, the Italian restaurant that has been a staple of the London dining scene for over three decades, has announced its acquisition by restaurateurs Dominic Ford and Krishan Katyal, in partnership with David Gleave of Liberty Wines.
The restaurant was previously owned by the Turi family who started the business in 1990 with a small trattoria in Putney, which then moved to Pimlico Road in Chelsea.
Since its launch over 30 years ago, Enoteca Turi has been celebrated for its wine list, showcasing over 500 varieties in its extensive menu. While this unique selection will remain, noteworthy additions sourced by founder and chairman of Liberty Wines, David Gleave, will take the curated range to the ‘next level’ – reinforcing Enoteca Turi’s long-established position as one of London’s most wine-focused restaurants.
With its new 16-bottle ‘By The Glass’ wine dispenser Enoteca Turi will offer both 125ml glasses and 250ml carafes with whites such as Grecco Di Tufo, Terre D’Uva DOCG 2102 and Soave La Rocca DOC 2021 Pieropan, along with classic reds such as Chianti Classico DOCG Fontodi 2020 and Tignanello IGT 2012 from Antinori.
Meanwhile, chef Giampiero Giuliani (Cipriani in New York, Pastaio, Locanda Locatelli), will bring his extensive knowledge of authentic regional Italian cuisine to the new seasonally changing menu. Highlights will include a spaghettini with oscietra caviar, chives and cream – a vitello tonnato, featuring thinly sliced rose veal, tuna and capers, and sogliola di dover.
Continuing the long tradition of ‘Fatto a Mano’, freshly made pasta will play a pivotal role in the new menu at Enoteca Turi and feature the likes of a classic Chitarrina, with hand-picked Dorset crab, Amalfi lemon, fresh chilli and basil.
The restaurant has always taken extreme care to source only the very best produce from independent, artisanal suppliers both in the UK and importing directly from Italy, where the team have well-established, long-standing relationships with many growers and producers.
Situated on Pimlico Road in Chelsea, Enoteca Turi’s interior is simple, understated and elegant, with crisp white linen tablecloths, freshly cut flowers and low ambient lighting. Downstairs, the private dining room offers a more intimate space, set within its impressive wine cellar and seating up to 28 guests.
