Domaine Clarence Dillon, the parent company of Chateau Haut-Brion, has officially opened its new Pavillon Catelan visitor centre in Bordeaux which will include La Cave du Chateau Bordeaux, sister to the renowned shop in Paris.
The Pavillon Catelan is the end result of a four-year renovation project to transform and repurpose a 19th century building overlooking the Chateau Haut-Brion estate.
Visitors will be able to make use of bespoke reception venues, tasting room, cellar as well as the ground floor shop, La Cave du Château, Bordeaux.
The historic property has been part of the group for some time. Having been first built by the Marquis of Catelan so he could manage part of the estate of Château Haut-Brion, the house will now act as a base from which to welcome visitors from both Chateau Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion estates, with views overlooking the vineyards.
Situated between Domaine Clarence Dillon’s two left bank properties, Châteaux Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut Brion, the centre will focus on welcoming visitors to the Domain via private events and a retail outpost.
La Cave du Chateau Bordeaux is a sister shop to the La Cave du Chateau Paris, based near the Champs Elysées.
Intended mainly for visitors of the Domain, the company said the shop will also be more widely accessible to visitors in region, offering the latest vintages as well as a rarities which come directly via the Châteaux or wines of the group.
