Armit reveals latest Tenuta San Guido wines
Armit Wines has unveiled a trio of new releases from the Tenuta San Guido estate – Sassicaia 2016, Guidalberto 2017 and Le Difese 2017.
It said Tenuta San Guido, of Bolgheri, had produced some of “the most talked about wines in the past few years, with the new releases being no exception”.
Kirsten Kilby, managing director of Armit Wines, said Armit had been the exclusive importer of Sassicaia for over 25 years, and that this is the “third year that we have had the pleasure of being the first in the world to showcase the wines of Tenuta San Guido to customers.
“I am thrilled to present this eagerly anticipated vintage and deeply privileged to have Priscilla Incisa della Rocchetta with us for our launch events. The 2016 vintage is already perfectly harmonious with a rare approachability for a wine so youthful. 2016 Sassicaia has refined power and total elegance which will age beautifully.”
The 2016 Sassicaia was recently awarded 100 points from Monica Larner of The Wine Advocate who said it offers an “exquisitely rare and indisputably compelling encore performance of one of the greatest Italian wines ever made".
Alongside the Sassicaia 2016 is the “firm and silky” Guidalberto 2017 and the Le Difese 2017, a “Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese blend made for immediate drinking”.
Armit Wines is the only importer of Tenuta San Guido in the UK.
