Burley ‘graciously’ exits the 45 group

Phil Burley has left the Leicester-based ’45' group of businesses, made up of 45 West, 45 St Martins and 45 Gin School.

The 45 group said his departure from the business came about as a "matter of mutual understanding in the boardroom”. Long term business partner Graham Veitch acquired Burley’s shares in the business for an undisclosed sum.

“I have spent my entire career giving my all to my current ventures, but I always keep a weather eye on the horizon,” said Burley.

“Graham and I have built an amazing brand with a fantastic reputation. I don't know how I could have improved on the quality of offer there, so now is the time to embrace the challenge of new projects instead.”

Burley will remain “heavily involved” in Burleigh's Gin and plans to dedicate more “time and energy to heading up our ambitious export plans. Burleigh's Gin has an amazing global appeal and as a person proud of my Leicestershire roots I'm excited to be taking this local product worldwide.”
