Berry Bros & Rudd has confirmed to Harpers it is running a trial concession in London Bridge train station but would not comment further on future plans and whether the concept may be rolled out to other sites.
The news broke after a report in the Daily Mail revealed that wines from Berry Bros & Rudd were being sold in Urban Express at London Bridge station. It is reported to offer bottles of wine from around £8 up to over £40.
It said the wine on offer is sold in full, half and quarter bottles and includes less expensive offerings such as a Rioja for £11.99 and a merlot-based red for £8.99.
The initiative is the latest from the venerable wine and spirit merchant, which earlier this year ran a pop up, taking over Flat Iron Square’s Tap & Bottle for two days, during London Wine Week.
Under the direction of chief executive Dan Jago (pictured), Berry Bros. & Rudd has been reaaserting itself as an innovative merchant, combining a notable blend of forward-looking approach with a 300 year old history.
