Specialist wine importer Hallgarten & Novum Wines has achieved the ISO 14001 accreditation for its efforts in minimising the environmental impact of its business operations.
ISO 14001 was first introduced in 1996 as a British Standard and requires organisations to have an environmental policy and action plan in place to manage their impact on the environment.
Certified organisations are committed to continuous improvement and are assessed annually to ensure progress is being maintained.
Hallgarten was recognised for its attention to detail in its environmental objectives – including the mindful design of its refurbished offices.
“Achieving the ISO 14001 accreditation is a huge success for the business, underlining our commitment to environmental compliance and reducing waste,” said managing director Andrew Bewes.
“Our internal ISO team have been working hard over the last year to ensure we met all criteria at the recent audit.”
Hallgarten & Novum Wines is one of the UK’s leading specialist wine merchants, with 85 years’ experience supplying the on and off-trades.
It has been named International Wine Challenge Merchant Wine List of the Year for three out of the past four years, taking home the title in 2018, 2016 and 2015.
