Borough unveils own wine range made with Liam Steevenson MW

Published:  11 July, 2018

Borough Wines and Beers has launched its own range of wines produced in collaboration with Liam Steevenson MW.

The first Maison 54 wines - a Pétillant Naturel from South West France and a Corsican Vermentino - are available in the independent merchant’s shops and online now.

The initial duo will be followed by the launch of a third white wine - a Terret Blanc from Languedoc, which will be arriving in stores at the end of this month (July), with a further Maison 54 tipple poised to join the line up in the autumn.

Bottled while still undergoing fermentation - and traditionally at a lower pressure than other sparkling wines - Pétillant Naturel wines (Pét Nats) have a gentle spritz and fresh character, making them an ideal summer aperitif.

This blend of Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc from South West France is crisp, dry and refreshing, with vibrant lime and gooseberry notes. At 11% ABV, it’s a good choice for picnics and sunny afternoons in the garden.

The Maison 54 range, which will comprise exclusive bottlings and bespoke blends, would also benefit from limited editions, said Borough Wines and Beers, adding the name Maison 54 paid homage to the Paris address where surrealists including André Breton and Marcel Duchamp invented the collaborative drawing style ‘Cadavre Exquis - now better known as the party game ‘Consequences’.
