Matthew Clark sets out to stir up cocktail sales

Published:  11 January, 2018

Matthew Clark has launched a ‘cocktail package’ to help licensees tap into the burgeoning sector.

Set up in collaboration with 30 leading spirits brands, the initiative has been designed to give aspirational bartenders the opportunity to be experimental and creative, whilst also helping the on-trade deliver industry leading cocktails and boost sales.

Running throughout this year, it includes a series of countrywide workshops, an online ‘advice portal’ as well as a cocktail competition - Stir It Up.

With the cocktail market in the UK continuing to expand, it was becoming increasingly important for licensees to take advantage of the “significant” revenue opportunities it provided, said Matthew Clark.

“Our ongoing cocktail agenda for 2018 has been created to provide the right platforms, training and education to help achieve this and we hope our customers will be inspired to get involved,” said spirits controller, Ceri Lewis.

The Stir It Up competition will be open to Matthew Clark customers from 29th January and will involve creating a ‘2018 Summer Cocktail,’ which should be made in under 90 seconds with five ingredients or less.

The top 40 will be invited to regional heats across the UK, with the top two finalists from each heat invited to the grand final in London on the 10th April.

The Matthew Clark Cocktail Workshops are open to all experience levels. Customers and prospects can sign up from January.
