Boutinot has partnered with Italian producer Cantine Riondo to become the exclusive UK agent for wines targeted at the UK multiple off-trade.
Having build a reputation for its expertise in Garganega, Soave, Pinot Grigio, Ripasso, Amarone and Prosecco in the past nine years since it was founded, Riondo today has six winemaking facilities across the main viticultural areas of Veneto.
It is also the bottling arm and export arm of the region's Collis co-operative group, which owns 6,500 hectares of vineyards via 2,400 growers throughout the region, and accounts for 15% of Veneto production.
The partnership would enhance Boutinot’s ability to offer a wide range of “great value in demand” wines, from one of the most popular regions of Italy, said Shaun English, head of national accounts.
In addition to partnerships with around 150 agency producers all over the winemaking world, Boutinot has its own ‘Made by Boutinot’ portfolio and a team that includes five full-time winemakers, one master blender, two MWs and a Master Sommelier.
In December last year, it expanded its South African portfolio with a three-tiers range created to chart the story of the Cape’s regional diversity and simplify it for consumers.
