The Benevolent raises £25,500 via online silent auction

Published:  04 December, 2017

The Benevolent raised more than £25,500 in its ‘Thanks for Giving’ online silent auction.

In its second year of running, this year’s auction site featured just under 70 ‘one-of-a-kind’ items allowing participants to bid for a wide range of lots to suit every budget and taste, ranging from a private box at The Royal Albert Hall to see Cirque Du Soleil to a Michelin Star Experience.

The drinks industry charity, which launched the auction 23rd November, said the “outstanding amount raised” would enable it to continue helping colleagues within the industry when facing a variety of difficult circumstances.

The auction - a last initiative prior to chief executive David Cox’s retirement, had beaten The Benevolent’s budget and was a “heart-warming” example of members recognising the need to suport the charity, said Cox.

“I am delighted that we have beaten our budget and I thank sincerely all the generous donors of auction lots and, of course the successful bidders."
