Spanish wine group Araex Grands has consolidated its position as a leading provider of quality wines with four Grand Golds and 12 Gold medals at the annual Concours Mondial de Bruxelles.
Held in Spain this year, the 24th Concours success comes shortly after Araex launched a new online platform in late April, which sees the company selling its wines directly to Spanish consumers via its TheGrandWines.com website.
This initiative brings a sweeping selection of Spanish wines directly to Spanish consumers, with wines from the company’s 13 bodegas, representing nine DOs, ranging from Basque wineries such as Gorka Izagirre and Rioja estates Luis Cañas and Baigorri to labels including Rolland & Galarreta and Cava Villa Conchi, the latter voted as ‘Best sparkling wine in Spain’.
“Spanish consumers can acquire the wines of ARAEX Grands Spanish Fine Wines and have them delivered to their homes,” said Javier Galarreta – CEO & Founder of ARAEX Grands Spanish Fine Wines.
The company will also be offering a limited selection of other Spanish wines via its website and may add imported wines to the online portfolio in the future.
Commenting on the medals, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles chairman Baudouin Havaux hailed the result as a success for Spain and the growing recognition of quality from across the country’s varied regions of production.
"No international producer has won more medals at this year's event than ARAEX Grands, a fact that marks a success for Spain and Rioja Alavesa in particular as an indication of the extremely high quality of its wines,” said Havaux.
