London merchant Roberson Wine has added the natural wines of Vinca Minor to its extensive California portfolio

London merchant Roberson Wine has added the natural wines of Vinca Minor to its extensive California portfolio.

Roberson's assistant head of Off-trade at Roberson Wine Jack Green said Roberson had decided to take on Vinca Minor's red wines; the Redwood Valley Carignan 2015 from Mendocino and the Santa Cruz Montains Cabernet Sauvignon 2015.

"The crunchy wines have freshness, are elegant and well-balanced and the fact that they are made in a 'natural' way is a bonus for us," Green told Harpers.

"We are always looking for new exciting artisan producers like Jason Charles to work who have passionate stories behind the wines," Green said.

Vinca Minor wine producer Jason Edward Charles, who is based in Northern California, presented his wines at the London RAW wine fair held on the Strand on 12 and 13 March, seeking UK representation.

Vinca Minor works with five growers across Santa Cruz, Sonoma Valley, and Mendocino, producing organic wines with low levels of suplhur.

According to Charles, the elevation and proximity to the ocean of the vineyards in Northern California, create optimal conditions for growing classic Bordeaux wine varieties.

Roberson Wine is a Californian specialist representing around 20 producers in California and the company has won six industry awards for its California range.
