The Macallan - one for the collector

Published:  17 December, 2010

One for the collecter here ? which invariably involves a fair sum of money.

Edinburgh-born photographer Albert Watson, in partnership with The Macallan single malt whisky, has visually documented his 12-day, 600-mile journey from the forests of Spain to Speyside. The result is a limited edition of The Macallan Sherry Oak 20 Year Old, with each bottle featuring a specially commissioned label by Watson and a set of 10 portfolio prints (rrp £700). A further 36 individually customised bottles of The Macallan 1946 whisky, the date Watson first met his wife Elizabeth, with a signed one-off collectible platinum print, can also be purchased, with a reserve price of £10,000.
