The Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico announces its new UK promotional campaign for 2008, which will continue to build on the work of the previous three years to educate the trade and consumers about this top Italian region and its wines.
Launching on 19th May with a major trade tasting at Somerset House - The Chianti Classico Collection - comprising tutored seminars led by Peter McCombie MW and Consorzio oenologist, Daniele Rosellini as well as a self-pour and new format sit-down sommelier service tasting - the campaign continues that week at the LIWF where the Consorzio is showing a selection of Chianti Classicos and Riservas on the Istituto Nazionale per il Commercio Estero stand V50.
Chianti Classico's neck seal featuring the Black Rooster, which is a guarantee of the wine's authenticity and quality, will continue to form the backbone of all consumer communication this year, which will include a weekend of in-store sampling at the start of September in several multiple off-licence chains, as well as press trips to the region.
Consorzio President, Marco Pallanti comments, "The UK is a very important market for us and we feel this new campaign shows our ongoing commitment to this market. Following the national promotion we ran in the independent sector in January, we will be focusing on the national off-licence chains to continue to support retail listings of Chianti Classico."
