Missouri-based distillery buys Birmingham's Broker's Gin

The McCormick Distilling Company, based in Kansas City, has acquired Broker's London Dry Gin for an undisclosed sum.

Broker's, which is based in Birmingham, has won a range of awards for its gin, including the gold medal in the super premium category at the London Gin Masters in 2013.

It is also one of the few gins to be certified kosher.

Broker's uses ten classic botanicals sourced from around the world, ranging from Macedonian juniper berries to Italian orris root.

Martin and Andy Dawson, the founders of Broker's, will remain with the distillery as consultants for at least two years.

McCormick has confirmed there will be no job losses associated with the acquisition.

McCormick was established in 1856. It currently has a range of nine premium brands, including Tequila Rose, Triple Crown Whiskey and McCormick's Irish Cream.

Broker's will be its first gin brand.

Broker's gin is currently available in 60 countries worldwide.
