Maison Ferrand has appointed the newly established Identity Drinks Brands to distribute its Plantation Rum brand in the UK.
Identity Drinks was set up by Nick Rodgers in May this year. Rodgers previously headed Instil Drinks Co, the craft beer and spirits arm of Bibendum.
Rodgers has represented Plantation before. While at Instil Drinks, he oversaw its growth from a niche product into a bartender's favourite with national listings.
The new agreement is well timed. Maison Ferrand has recently repackaged its Plantation Original Dark brand and upgraded its blend to include Jamaican rum.
Alexandre Gabriel, president and owner of Maison Ferrand, commented: "At Maison Ferrand we are thrilled to be part of Identity Drinks Brands from the onset. I have known Nick for more than eight years as a one-of-a-kind, passionate and professional man obsessed with fine spirits. Along with his team he is a man on a mission, just like us at Ferrand."
Rodgers said: "I have Plantation in my blood, quite literally, so I couldn't be happier to be to be working with Paul McFadyen and the Ferrand products again."
Identity Drinks also represents Green Box's drinks portfolio, Element 29 vodka and Boxer gin.
The range will continue to be available through Bibendum and other leading wholesalers and retailers.
