Boutinot releases entry-level Spanish wine pair for independents

Published:  17 July, 2015

Boutinot has worked with Spanish producer Bodegas Murviedro to produce a red and a white entry level wine aimed at the on-trade and independent retailers.

Fauno Viura-Sauvignon Blanc 2014 and Garnacha-Syrah-Monastrell 2014 each have an rrp of £5.99.

Murviedro was founded in 1927 and now has a presence in DO Valencia, Utiel-Requena and Alicante, with around 80ha of its own vines and access to top quality fruit from a further 1,500ha.

Boutinot Spanish buyer Jean Wareing MW said: "The entry-level red and white wines combine indigenous Spanish and international varietals.

"Murviedro has the same approach to the wine we bring to market as us - that they should absolutely deliver at their price points and offer the classic character of their provenance along with the fresh, fruit-driven profile demanded by the UK palate at that level."

The name Fauno is inspired by a mythical faun said to guard the vineyards.
