Quintessential Brands Group, whose spirits portfolio include Greenalls Original London Dry Gin, Berkeley Square Gin and Bloom Gin, has today acquired the French spirits producer Lafragette & Legier SA (L&L) from French American Vintners, part of the US-based Kopf Group.
One of the leading manufacturers of French spirits including Cognacs, Armagnacs and fruit liqueurs, L&L, based near Agen, in the south west of France owns the Alize brand everywhere in the world other than north America. This multi million euro investment is part of Quintessential Brands Group's ambitious growth plans and increases its global distribution to more than 30 markets.
"We are delighted to be bringing L&L into the Quintessential Brands Group," said Enzo Visone, chairman and co-founder of the Quintessential Brands Group. "This acquisition brings new production capabilities for high quality spirits including private label and contract manufacture products. L&L is renowned for its expertise in crafting exquisite fruit liqueur, spirits, brandies and cognacs and we are very excited at the prospect of working in both new categories and in new markets."
Georges Chasseuil, President of L&L, added: "I am very pleased to be joining L&L as President and leading the business going forwards. Becoming part of the Quintessential Brands Group is the most significant development for the business in the last five years and we very much look forward to building the business as part of a larger spirits group."
