Jon Pepper MW is joining Enotria as buying and retail director
Pepper will join in February 2015, after leading the Buckingham Schenk business for the last four years. Enotria's chief executive Troy Christensen said Pepper would "consolidate the premium portfolio" as well as "balance the complexities of trading in the UK".
"Jon is the ideal person to take up the mantle and consolidate the premium positioning of our portfolio, and the wider business. I have no doubt that with his experience and insight he is well placed to balance the complexities of trading in the UK, with a deep understanding of wine, from grape to glass. He has a strong track record of developing, launching and marketing premium brands, strong commercial skills and an excellent network of contacts across the UK wine trade."
Pepper has had a varied career to date, working in sales, marketing and category management roles across cosmetic brands such as L'Oreal and LVMH as well having experience in the premium mass-market brands, retail and own label sector.
Pepper said: "Enotria has great wine credentials and a fantastic portfolio already, and I'm looking forward to building on this to ensure that the business develops its position as a true leader of the wine trade, remaining relevant and competitive while driving multichannel growth through a premium range that is the very best in the industry."
Pepper joined Buckingham Schenk in 2006 as marketing manager, rising to commercial director and managing director within four years. He undertook the Master of Wine programme during his time at Buckingham Schenk, graduating last year.
Buckingham Schenk has recently enjoyed success with its joint venture Argentinian brand Vinalba, which saw sales double in the past year.
