200,000 PORT HAUL AS CONTAINER STOLEN

Thieves have stolen a container of single quinta Ports worth 200,000 which was en route to a major multiple. The theft is believed to have happened on either 1 or 2 November. Andrew Hawes, MD of Mentzendorff, told Harpers that people should be very suspicious' if they are offered the following Ports with these Lot numbers: 1996 Taylor's Quinta de Vargellas: L1V96BO; 1996 Taylor's Quinta de Terra Feita: L1E96BO; and 1987 Croft Quinta da Roeda: L31R87BO. Anyone with information should call Ilse Serfontein at Mentzendorff on 020 7840 3600. In an unrelated incident, a container of Carlo Pellegrino Marsala was stolen in Luton on 10 November. Nearly 3,000 boxes of the Garibaldi Dolce-style wine, with a retail value of 80,000, were stolen.
