Panos Sarantopoulos has been promoted to chief executive of Rémy Cointreau's liqueurs and spirits division after a successful time headling up Metaxa, the company's Greek spirit business.
Panos Sarantopoulos has been promoted to chief executive of Rémy Cointreau's liqueurs and spirits division after a successful time headling up Metaxa, the company's Greek spirit business.
Sarantopoulos' new role will see him take over responsibility for the House of Cointreau, the French brandy, St. Rémy, the liqueurs Passoa, Izarra and Ponche Kuba, and its Guneagal whisky business. He will also look after building up the Rémy Cointreau Gastronomie business.
During his three years in charge of Metaxa he helped premiumise the brand through a series of new product and marketing innovations.
Prior to joining Rémy Cointreau, Sarantopoulos spent 16 years at LVMH where he was business development director for Hennessy, senior vice-president sales for Veuve Clicquot and president and chief executive for the House of Krug.
He said of his new role: "With the support of talented teams and our group's agile distribution network, we will inject fresh energy into the division's houses, brands and activities so that they continue to gather the worldwide recognition they deserve."
