Cameron has been in the wine industry for the past 25 years - starting at Oddbins before moving to Lay & Wheeler, Paragon Vintners and Berkmann Wine Cellars. Most recently Cameron held the position of marketing manager at bulk wine specialists Lanchester Wine Sales, based in Durham.

Broadland chief executive Mark Lansley said: "We are delighted to have Ben join the Broadlands team. Ben's experience in wine brand development and marketing rounds out our existing expertise in wine research, sourcing, technology and bottling. Ben is already a hit with a number of our clients who are using his skills to develop their own bespoke products."

Cameron added: "I am delighted to have joined such a productive, progressive and forward thinking wine supplier. With a fast growing range of wines, Broadland Wineries now provides UK wine buyers with service, quality and value driven by Broadland's capabilities of flexibility, innovation, reliability and efficiency."

Broadland Wineries was set up in 1965 and imports, produces, bottles and supplies wines under branded and own-label formats to the on and off-trade in the UK and abroad.  Customers include national major multiple retailers such as Aldi, ASDA, Booker, the Co-Operative and J. Sainsbury, as well as a number of smaller regional retailers and wholesalers.

Last year the group appointed former Morrisons head of wine development Dr Arabella Woodrow MW as its first wine director. The firm employs 116 people and can package wine in 1 litre, 75cl, 50cl, 37.5cl and 18.7cl bottle formats, as well as bag-in-box, pouch and tubes. Earlier this year the firm opened a new flexible bottling line at its Cawston location, which can manage much smaller batch sizes than usual allowing customers to split bulk wine tankers into multiple formats and minimise stock-holdings and risks. The new line is also able to seal bottles with a fully recyclable Novatwist cap - the first in the UK to offer this option.
