?Kingsland appoints Guy Young as commercial director

Published:  25 March, 2014

Kingsland Wine & Spirits has appointed Guy Young as commercial director following Rob Page's move to Bavaria UK as managing director.

Young has already been working as a consultant for the Manchester-based company, and formally started the role this week, initially sharing with Page to ensure a smooth handover.

Managing director Andy Sagar said: "Guy's consultancy work has been instrumental in our recent growth - both of Kingsland and our agency division, Legacy Wines.  We're delighted to welcome someone with his experience and expertise to the team on a permanent basis and wish Rob very good luck for his move to the world of beer."

Guy Young has been involved in the UK wine trade for over 30 years, notably as managing director of HwCg until the agency was purchased by PLB in 2010.  Since then, Young has worked as business strategy director for TFC Wines & Spirits and consulted for a number of companies, including Kingsland.

"At HwCg, we were passionate about wine, dynamic and completely customer and consumer focused," he says.  "These values are also held at Kingsland, and I'm delighted to be joining the team at such a crucial stage in the company's development."

Kingsland was founded 50 years ago and specialised in UK bottling, packaging and shipping bulk wine.  In 2012, the purchase of aspects of the Stratford's business gave Kingsland the opportunity to grow its existing agency business, Legacy Wines.
