The UK drinks trade united last week at the Benevolent charity ball, raising over £40,000 for colleagues in need.
The ball, which was held at the Dorchester, auctioned off the late Michael Cox's collection of Taittinger Champagnes, as well as the Critics' Case which included 12 bottles selected from the country's most revered wine writers.
The Ball, which was held at The Dorchester, also showcased tableside magicians, and a live band. The audience also heard a moving account from Benevolent beneficiary, former Decanter journalist and Daily Telegraph wine correspondent Richard Neill, about his struggle with Motor Neurone Disease.
The 12-bottle Taittinger Collection fetched a remarkable £7,600 at auction, while the critics' case, which included bottles from Jancis Robinson MW and Oz Clarke's cellars, raised £4,000.
The Benevolent's chief executive David Cox said: "This really was our best Benevolent Ball yet and I was delighted that so many of the guests cited a joyous atmosphere coupled with a real feeling of purpose and connection with the work that our charity is doing. The valuable funds raised will truly help those less fortunate than us and I am extremely grateful for all the support from our sponsors and the guests".
