Hawksmoor duo to open Foxlow restaurant in November

Published:  25 September, 2013

The team behind Hawksmoor is set to open a 100-cover restaurant and bar on St John Street in Clerkenwell, London.

Will Beckett and Huw Gott are to open Foxlow on November 14.

The pair said they want Foxlow to be "the kind of restaurant they'd love to have near their homes, where they might go regularly with friends and family".

The cuisine is eclectic with Italian, Middle Eastern, Asian and American influences. Meat from ethically reared animals and reasonably priced wines and cocktails will also be on the menu.

Foxlow will, perhaps unsurprisingly, focus quite a bit on meat and features charcoal grilled steak in lesser-known cuts, such as deckle (the top, fatty part of the rib eye). Other grills will include pluma (pork feather steak) and slow-smoked dishes. Fish and seafood will come from Brixham market.

Foxlow's cocktail list will feature 12 "new and original" drinks, including a spicy, peaty Smoked Bloody Mary. Similarly, the wine list will feature around 45 reds, whites and sparkling wines from smaller growers and producers.

The design will feature some reclaimed wood, tiles and plenty of things with "stories": inspirations for the interior range from a 1950s library in Nottingham to assorted London Underground stations.
