Wine distributor, Bottle Green, has signed up its first non alcoholic agency business by taking on ready-to-drink, pre-mixed bottled cocktail brand Nuba Cocktails as it looks to widen its profile in the on-trade.
The cocktails, which include a Mai Tai, a Cosmopolitan and Mojito flavours, will be available to on-trade outlets across the UK and Ireland.
Richard Hitchock, Bottle Green's operations and marketing director, said: "As well as continuing to expand within our established markets, our business strategy includes seeking out innovative drinks brands with high growth potential. Pre-mixed cocktails are at the forefront of an upsurge in the ready-to-drink spirits sector. The market is predicted to grow tenfold over the next five years to be worth £500 million, if the current level of demand continues."
Nuba Cocktails, which is owned by Euphoria Cocktails based in Bottle Green's home city of Leeds, will also be available to independents. The range was developed in 2011 with the help of leading mixologists by entrepreneur Vicky Novis who left her job as an accountant at KPMG to go after what she sees as a gap in the market for quality, authentic tasting ready-to-drink cocktails.
