Carlsberg's wine and spirits division Crown Cellars has launched new "no-fuss" wine range O&E (Open & Enjoy), which comprises five wines typical of their region and grape.
The O&E range includes a Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon; Vin de France Sauvignon Blanc; a Californian Zinfandel Rosé; a Pinot Grigio from Italy; and a Vin de Pays d'Oc Merlot.
The wines are only available in the on-trade and the range is to appeal to consumers looking for "no-fuss wines with plenty of flavour". A case of six comes with an introductory price of £24.48.
The wines were selected by Crown Cellars wine buyer Louise Boddington and Jonathan Pedley MW, Crown Cellars' wine consultant.
Boddington said: "Like all the wines in our portfolio. The wines in the O&E range are chosen to be cracking examples of their varietal and region.
"While the complex tasting notes and traditional labelling used by some wine ranges appeals to wine writers and enthusiasts, in the on-trade consumers often want to make quick decisions based on clear information. To meet this need we've kept the O&E branding and descriptions very straightforward, ensuring the wines have a strong appeal to customers looking for an easy choice in pubs and restaurants. As the name suggests, all you have to do is simply 'open and enjoy' a bottle."
