When 67 Pall Mall first opened its doors in December 2015, even the most optimistic would be impressed by the growth of the fine wine private members club. The London organisation began with around 1,500 members, with this number having now risen to just over 3,800. Across 67 Pall Mall’s global membership – including sister clubs in Verbier and Singapore, and resident membership in Hong Kong – this number swells to almost 10,000. What better litmus test for shifting preferences among fine wine aficionados (and the wine industry itself, with 12% of membership drawn from the trade) than the frequenters of 67 Pall Mall? In its London Fine Wine Trends Report, the club presents the changing buying habits and personal proclivities of its London base. As Harpers discovered, new regions have risen, with some remaining resolutely popular.

Burgundy was the big winner of the recent 67 Pall Mall Fine Wine Trends Report, compiled by yours truly to mark the London club’s 10th anniversary. Not only does the region dominate sales in the SW1 enclave, selling 37% more than second-place Champagne in an average month, but it led the top 10 wines which members expect to buy (even) more of in the coming decade.

A new report from wine investment firm Winecap shows that although a drop of -3% was seen for the Liv-ex 100 index in Q2 of 2025, the pace of decline slowed, highlighting potential signs of stability.

The fine wine index dropped in April by the greatest amount since August 2023. The Liv-ex May Market Intelligence Report said the industry standard Fine Wine 100 closed down 1.7%, attributing the decline to the introduction of tariffs and the En Primeur tastings.

Data from Live-Ex, the fine wine trading platform, shows that over the past two years, the Burgundy 150, (which collates the performance of the top 150 Burgundian wines on the platform), was down 30.2%. This is the largest drop of any sub-index within the Live-Ex's Fine Wine 1000.
