Campari reveals Futurist art labels for 2015 limited editions

Published:  23 June, 2015

Campari has unveiled its 2015 limited edition art label bottles, continuing a tradition that started for the Italian aperitif brand when it celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2010.

The latest design features a sketch of a Campari pavilion designed for an international exposition in Milan in 1933 by the Futurist artist Fortunato Depero.

The sketch, which was originally in black and white, has been "reimagined" using contemporary colours.

A work by Depero also featured on Campari's limited edition labels in 2014.

The pavilion in this year's sketch was never built, but a scale model has been kept in the brand's headquarters ever since.

The Italian city is currently hosting the 2015 Universal Exposition.

There are three labels in the 2015 series, with different colour schemes chosen by Italian colour consultant Francesca Valan and X-Rite Pantone, the global colour solutions company.

Senior brand manger Ben Pick said: "The labels are once again a tribute to Depero, a truly remarkable artist with long standing links to the brand.

"The aim of this year's labels was to reinterpret an art movement in a new and original way as well as pay homage to the brand's tradition, celebrating its historic artistic connections.

"Using powerful and striking colours, Campari has strived to add an element of the unexpected and intrigue into its iconic brand."

Bottles with the art labels will be listed by Waitrose and Sainsbury's with an rrp of £16.
