Hawes, Mills and Townsend join the Benevolent as Trustees
Drinks industry charity The Benevolent has appointed three new Trustees as it continues to restructure and reposition itself in the trade.
Andrew Hawes, managing director of Mentzendorff; John Mills, managing director of InterContinental Brands; and Dan Townsend, general manger for UK and Ireland at Treasury Wine Estates, have all joined the charity's board of Trustees.
At the Benevolent's AGM held earlier this week it was also announced that Christopher Carson and Tony Dee were to step down as Trustees. Both have been involved and served the charity since 1993 and were involved in the charity's relaunch over the past year.
Benevolent Chairman Chris Porter said: "I am delighted to welcome the new Trustees to the board. They are all well known and influential figures within the trade and bring with them unparalleled experience and knowledge of the drinks industry. Their appointment is a reflection of the ongoing revitalisation of The Benevolent and a clear demonstration that the trade charity is actively re-engaging with the trade."
