Thierry's has added C da Silva's Dalva Port range to its portfolio.

Dalva's collection includes an aged White, Colheita Tawny and Vintage Ports as well as the Ruby, Tawny and Rosé Ports. The 1963 Golden White Port, one which is produced only in the best vintages, won a trophy at last year's International Wine Challenge.

Thierry's head of trading Claire Sheppard said:  "We're delighted to have C da Silva on board and we're confident that the Dalva Ports will complement our ever-expanding range of wines from across the world."

Jim Reader, Dalva's export director, added that Thierry's has a "record of successful customer relationships" and is the "ideal company" to introduce Dalva port to the UK.

Dalva Ports original business dates back to 1863, but the arrival of Clemente da Silva in Portugal in 1933 fresh from making his fortune in Brazil,  gave the company a radical boost. He bought into a Port wine company owned by his wife's family. Since then, C da Silva has expanded into Brazil, North America and, more recently, Europe and Asia.
