Naked Wines shortlisted for Orange Innovation Award

Published:  29 July, 2010

Norwich based retailer, Naked Wines has been shortlisted for the Orange Innovation Award 2010, as part of the National Business Awards.

Founder of Naked Wines Rowan Gormley, who previously set-up Virgin Money and Virgin Direct, co-launched the business in December 2008.

The company's latest innovation invites UK wine drinkers to buy their wines in advance in return for preferential prices.

The aim is to give unknown winemakers a risk-free route to market through upfront cash flow and guaranteed sales.

Other National Business Award finalists include Unilver, Camelot, Marks & Spencer, American Express, Coca Cola, The Co-Operative Group and Kwik Fit Insurance.

The winners will be announced in September.
