Absolut and Spike Jonze collaborate on short film

Published:  22 January, 2010

Absolut has launched a creative collaboration with director Spike Jonze which will premier at the Sundance Film Festival this week.

"I'm Here", is a 30-minute short film that features as part of the brand's campaign "In An Absolut World, Ordinary Is No Place To Be".

The robot love story aims to combine Jonze's unique style with the Absolut vision of making ordinary life more interesting.

Jonze said: "It was a pretty incredible opportunity. Absolut didn't give me any requirements to make a movie that had anything to do with vodka. They just wanted me to make something that was important to me, and let my imagination take me wherever I wanted."

Ahead of the nationwide launch in March 2010, there will be a series of preview screenings in unexpected locations.

Mark Hamilton, head of marketing for vodka at Pernod Ricard UK said: "This campaign will take that idea on a step, to show how people can apply the concept of doings things differently to disrupt their everyday routine and make life more interesting - because I think we would all agree that ordinary is no place to be."

"I'm Here", stars British actor Andrew Garfield and Sienna Guillory in the lead roles. The soundtrack includes original music by Sam Spiegel and original songs by L.A.based art musician, Aska Matsumiya and other emerging musicians.

The film will also screen at the Berlin Film Festival in February, followed by a global release in March on www.imheremovie.com.
